Uh oh, I'm panicking again because I need to do another post in a hurry.  Here is a selection of my artwork interspersed with my mess.  That's it, really.

  3. Artwork is the very loveliest of messes. As an old friend said, "You have to break a few eggs to make an omelette".

  4. Love the Fornasetti vase with the tulips. Enjoy the social summer swirl - it should soon quieten down. I have an urge to take off to Scotland, and a bit of culture in London. (That came out wrong - Scotland has culture too, but I'm rather favouring "roaming in the gloaming" from the latter.)

  6. Thanks everyone for putting a nice gloss on things!

Columnist, I am waiting for my diary to clear soon and settle down to relish what summer is left. No doubt our lovely weather will crash and burn and give way to August rain. Oh do come to London!

Cordial greetings to R-C-L-V. You are much too modest to describe the background to your posts as a 'mess'. If I achieved as well ordered an environment as I see there I would think myself very accomplished. I do like the use of watercolour as a medium - it can communicate so much - do you have an archive? Perhaps landscapes, seascapes (or even cityscapes, if that is the appropriate word)?

  9. rurritable, thank you.. I have farming and animal husbandry envy, not to mention all your other accomplishments.

Maritime Observer - thank you, too. I have a wretched archive of fragments of ideas and unframed drawings, paintings etc. and need to have an affair with a picture framer!

  10. Dear Painter. So nice to see you did a quick tidy before you let the photographers in! Still love the wallpaper and your paintings are really quite lovely - as the proud recipient of one I can honestly say they are terrific.

  15. Ok now when are you going to show the REAL mess?
These were wonderful still life arrangements I'd say....but of course you are an artist and even your messes are aesthetic! Yeah!

  16. Lynne, the mess has almost gone for the time being. A new study has enabled me to tidy my kitchen.. for the time being? But thank you for your kind comment.
